Overview
The Wisconsin chapter of Au Sable Graduate Fellows includes graduate students, post-docs, and professionals from a variety of disciplines, including: the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, Sociology, Composition Rhetoric, Forest and Wildlife Ecology, Zoology, Engineering, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and other professional organizations. Our group meets monthly, alternating discussions over potluck-style meals with outings and service trips to local natural areas. Discussions focus on readings relevant to Christian environmental stewardship or on the research or work of a group member who presents and facilitates the discussion. We meet at the homes of group members, rotating homes and discussion leaders from month to month.

The group is coordinated by Michelle Gooch, a Ph.D. candidate in Zoology at the UW-Madison, and Jon Dahl, the coordinator for Graduate InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the UW-Madison. The UW Grad Fellows are closely linked with the University's GradIV chapter, a partnership that has contributed to the diversity and stability of our group. Cal DeWitt, Founding Director of Au Sable, often joins our discussions as well.
